Dear UAF community,
Memorial Day is a day of remembrance in honor of the U.S. military members who have
paid the ultimate sacrifice to protect our freedoms. I invite all of you to extend
care and support to the families, friends and fellow service members who carry the
weight of losing a loved one in the line of duty.
We recognize this day may be a difficult and deeply personal time for your colleagues,
friends or neighbors who have lost a loved one. If you are grieving or struggling,
please know that you are not alone. Students can reach out to the Student Health and
Counseling Center at 907-474-7043. Employees have access to confidential support through
the Employee Assistance Program at 1-888-969-0155, available 24/7.
