Outstanding Student of the Year
Every year the College of Liberal Arts asks each department to select their outstanding student(s) for that year- students who possess the passion and creativity for new discoveries and scholarship, students who demonstrate independence of thought and action in the pursuit of knowledge, and students who exemplify excellence.
The Department of Justice has chosen the following as students who embodies these qualities and so much more. Thank you for all your hard work and contributions to your department. You make a difference at UAF.

Outstanding BA Student
"One lesson I've learned throughout UAF鈥攁nd honestly my entire college experience鈥攊s
you can do anything you put your mind to, really. As a father of two kids, working
60 hours a week and taking six classes a semester, it's a lot. I would have never
thought that it's something I could possibly do. I never thought education per se
was in the mindset. But anything you put your mind to, you really can accomplish."
Outstanding MA Student
"At the start of the program I was unsure if I was even a candidate to be a part of
the program, and throughout the process I doubted myself. I realized as I progressed
that this was something I was able to accomplish, and it was something that I could
actually succeed in. Being able to complete the program... is really a really proud
moment for myself, and something that I did for myself. That's pretty special, because
a lot of times that doesn't happen, or it's not available to some people, so I feel
very blessed."
