Field Safety

A should be filled out for any fieldwork  (except when on major vessels), and a form should be submitted if traveling by small boat, snowmachine, etc.

Training

Includes UAF required training, supervisor training, laboratory training, specific chemical training, fieldwork and logistics training, and more.

Some UAF training must be completed yearly. Talk to your supervisor or advisor about which trainings you need for the work you are about to do.

Emergency Action Plans

Includes building-specific information on evacuation routes, exit points, roll call locations, locations of emergency supplies, how to notify emergency responders, and more.

Per UAF policy, each building occupied by one or more employees will have a current Emergency Action Plan (EAP). Each EAP is to be updated annually and when changes occur. All employees must review each applicable EAP and complete the quiz at least annually.

Chemicals: Storage, Use and Disposal

Includes chemical inventory, safe storage, handling protocols, shipping, and methods for disposal.
